Your donation to this Wishlist item will go toward wall-mounted SMART boards for all classrooms. LPHS currently has approximately 19 SMART boards, and our goal is to have a SMART board in all 90 classrooms. SMART boards are incredibly interactive and enable teachers to connect their computers, video cameras, digital cameras, microscopes, and pretty much anything else that you can think of to help aid with instruction. Using smart technology in the classroom can help raise test scores, improve student learning, increase student engagement, enhance literacy, boost attentiveness, and increase comprehension. These interactive boards provide an extraordinary opportunity for teachers to create a classroom environment where students with different learning styles can learn from each other. They also last a very long time and require very little maintenance. The current projectors in many classrooms are failing, breaking, and unfixable. Each SMART board plus installation costs approximately $4000, and LPHS needs about 70 SMART boards. We will purchase as many SMART boards as possible with the donations made to this Wishlist item.
